Project 4

So for project 4 my group was thinking about writing how we don't need the foot bridge they are putting in by the B&E. Since it looks like they have already started construction on it, I'm not sure if it's a good thing to do the project on. I was thinking maybe we could talk about how a sidewalk is needed over by the stadium. I think the university is thinking about doing this in the future. We could just talk about why it needs one or what the benefits of putting one in would be. I think it's most important to finalize what space we want to work with, and then plan how we are going to get started.

Finished

My project 3 is finally finished. I am glad that it is done, and I'm happy with the final product. I think the site looks unified and polished. I wanted to give it a clean and friendly feel and make it inviting. I wanted to do this because I think my living room is friendly and inviting but also simple. I like the pictures that I included, too. I also think my faq page is pretty good because it explains what the site is about and a little about who I am in case people are curious. Now, I can focus on the other three papers I have to write for other classes and the other website I have to make for Tech Writing. Guess my busyness won't be letting up anytime soon.

Almost Finished

Well I'm getting close to being done with my Re-vision project. All I have left to do is to make my FAQ page and add some things to my homepage. I'm getting really frustrated though because some of the things are not working. I can't get this one picture of a plant to work. It shows up when it is on my computer, but it won't show up when I put it online. It's weird. I just hope that I can get it to work by tomorrow. Otherwise, I'll just have to let it be.

So Much To Do, So Little Time

So this whole month of April is pretty busy. I have been going nonstop these past few days, and it's not going to let up for another week or two. It seems like I have somewhere to go every single evening. I've had zero relax time. It's been a project here and paper there, and tonight is no different. I have to finish up the project for this class tonight, but at least it's more enjoyable then researching a country that begins with a Q then writing an 8-10 page paper about it. Anyway, I'll be glad when this semester is over.

Bad Day

So today kind of sucks. My car won't start. I don't know why because it started fine this morning, I'm pretty sure the battery is good. Also, the fluids and everything are good because we checked them yesterday. And....my roommate's car is broken so we are without a single car. Which wouldn't be so bad except we really need one. She has a job at the law school she needs to get to, and I have a lot of meetings and stuff to go to, this week especially. So anyway, I'll stop complaining now.

After Spring Break

Going to Mississippi was a really great experience. I don't think people realize how much more work there needs to be done in the places that Hurricane Katrina hit. Most people have forgotten by now or think that everything has been taken care of. It was an eye opening experience to see houses still untouched since they were destroyed by the hurricane. But it was also amazing to see how much hope the people I met still had even though they had lost almost everything in the storm. When someone asked if they were bitter or angry because it had occurred, they replied that no, they were not. They said they just took the storm as a sign they needed to re-evaluate their lives and then they picked up and moved on. It was also amazing to meet people who devoted their lives to helping these people who had been through the hurricane. This one man we met had left his job and moved to Mississippi to work as a volunteer and help rebuild. He has been helping for over a year now. We put in a lot of hard work, but it was all worth it. I really would like another chance to go down there and help out again.

Spring Break

I'm so excited that it's almost spring break. This year I am going on a missions' trip with BCM to Mississippi. We are going to help with hurricane Katrina cleanup. We might also get to help build some new houses. I really am looking forward to this opportunity to go down there and help out people who still don't have a place to live. I just hope that we can get a lot done for these people and that all of us will be willing to work and have good attitudes while we are there. We are taking a charter bus, but the ride shouldn't be too bad because we are driving for 7 or 8 hours then staying overnight somewhere before we drive the rest of the way. We only get to be down there working for 3 days though. I wish we could be there longer. We do get to visit New Orleans while we are there. That should be a good experience since I've never been there before.
